Outdoor Rental Center

The Outdoor Rental Center provides a large inventory of outdoor equipment. This equipment may be rented by the K-State community and is available for reservation.

The Outdoor Rental Center (ORC) is open seasonally March-October.

The ORC is now CLOSED for the season!

Eligibility
Equipment is available to K-State students who are enrolled in the current or previous semester, K-State faculty/staff, and facility members. A valid K-State student ID, faculty/staff ID, or current membership key tag must be presented when equipment is checked out.

*A minimum of 4 canoes or kayaks must be rented in order to rent a trailer.

Reservations and Refunds

Equipment may be reserved in person in advance by paying a $5 non-refundable reservation fee per item. Equipment not picked up on a reserved day will be checked out first come, first serve basis the following day. The reservation fee ensures that we will have your equipment available for pick up. The reservation fee is a separate fee and does not apply to the daily rental fee. The daily rental fee must also be paid when the reserved equipment is picked up.

Reservation Fee (non-refundable): $5.00 (includes tax)

Rental Fee refunds with notification received:

Prior to 2 business days: Full rental fee refunded
Less than 2 business days: Half of the rental fee refunded
No pickup fee: Full rental fee invoiced

No refunds for under $25 will be made on any fee charged by Recreational Services.

Cancellations
A cancellation fee will be charged equal to one-half of the rental rate of the equipment if cancellation is less than 2 days prior to pickup time. The full reservation fee will be forfeited if the equipment is not picked up on the day of reservation.

Cleaning & Repairs (non-taxable)

All equipment must be returned clean, and tents/sleeping bags must be returned dry. Equipment returned dirty or wet will be assessed a $15 cleaning fee. Other charges may apply if the equipment is damaged or lost. Equipment returned late will be charged at the daily rate until returned or replacement cost is met.
