interested in becoming a nutrition consultant?

We currently do not conduct in-house proficiency training at any specific time for those desiring to be nutrition consultants. However, an orientation and bi-monthly trainings are done with those who are hired to educate on computer software, appropriate consulting techniques, and changing information in the nutrition field.

NUEX, public health nutrition, or dietetics major is required. Those applying must have completed and passed with a 90% or higher in both of the following K-State curriculum courses: HN132 Basic Nutrition and HN450 Nutritional Assessment.

Hired applicants will be required to participate in one-on-one nutrition consultations, small and large group presentations when requested of Rec Services, as well as take part in the various nutrition programs conducted throughout the semester by Rec Services.

Nutrition consultants may work 2-10 hours per week, depending on demand for services. Starting pay: $7/hour.
