Rec report

Employee of the Month

Megan Cahoj is a junior at K-State and has worked for Rec Services since Fall 2007 as both an assistant building supervisor and building supervisor.

Megan is an extremely hard worker with a great attitude! She works a lot of late hours and covers shifts for others as much as possible. Megan is a great lead-by-example mentor for younger and new employees.

Working at the Rec has given Megan the opportunity to interact more with fellow students and improve her leadership skills, especially when the need arises for assessing and handling emergency situations! Megan enjoys her responsibilities, especially meeting new people every day and forming relationships with other co-workers and Rec staff.

Megan will receive her bachelor of arts degree in music education and plans to teach instrumental band at the elementary or secondary level after graduation.

Who's Who

Danger may not be his middle name, but don't underestimate this building supervisor from Dangerfield, Texas! Vinnie Barkley, who has been employed with Rec Services since May of 2008, has worked as an assistant building supervisor, weight room attendant, maintenance employee, and is currently a building supervisor.

Vinnie attends K-State as a marketing major and anticipates graduating this May. After he graduates, Vinnie is hoping to make it big in the business world!

Vinnie has worked very hard since he began his employment with Rec Services, and his employers have noticed. Vinnie can be called upon at almost any time to fill in for last minute schedule changes or handle large problems with patience and ease. He has great character, which has helped him succeed to this point.

When asked for a favorite quote or a motto to live by, Vinnie responded, "Don't let a win go to your head or a loss go to your heart."

My favorite workout

Moayed Almarhoon first began using a personal trainer the end of this summer. His initial goal was to lose some weight. But Moayed has been very impressed with the way his personal trainer showed him the proper techniques for exercising and using cardio training to his best benefit.

Moayed feels that using a personal trainer was a very good decision and recommends this for anyone interested in improving their physical condition and losing weight.

Moayed is pursuing a degree in human resources management.
