General rules and regulations

The following basic rules have been established in the best interest of users and Recreational Services facilities. Any additional rules posted in the building or directed by staff will be enforced.

Use of facilities is a privilege. Individuals not cooperating with established policies will be asked to leave and may have their privileges revoked.

ID Cards
Facilities are available to authorized users only. Authorized users are current students, faculty/staff, members of the K-State Alumni Association, (their spouses and dependents), and other groups as detailed below and in the Recreational Services Facility Use Eligibility & Fees pamphlet.

Participants must present a valid student ID card with a working magnetic stripe or a facility use key tag each time admitted.

Facility use memberships may be purchased in the Recreational Services administrative office located in the lobby of the Peters Recreation Complex, Monday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Tuesday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., including the noon hour.

Facility use is a privilege. The Recreation Complex and Natatorium are not open to the general public. You must present your valid student ID or facility use key tag each time you use the facilities. Please do not expect to gain admittance when you do not have your ID card or key tag.

ID cards and key tags are not transferable. They are for the exclusive use of the identified facility member and will be confiscated if presented by anyone other than the rightful owner. Those persons found misusing their ID card or key tag by loaning (considered theft of services), falsifying or altering in any way, or using it in any unauthorized way, are subject to disciplinary action or prosecution as well as a misuse fee.

Alcoholic beverages/tobacco products
Cereal malt and alcoholic beverages and smoking and tobacco products are prohibited in this facility at all times. Violators are subject to disciplinary action.

Host policies
Dependents are those who receive their support from the ID holder and are claimed as a dependent on the ID holder's tax return.

Only dependents under 14 years of age will be admitted to the facilities at no charge and must be accompanied and directly supervised by their cardholding parent. An adult member may sponsor a total of 3 individuals, whether dependents and/or guests. Note: parents who bring dependents to use facilities must present a facility use key tag that bears their own name - not the name of their spouse.

Strollers are not allowed on the tracks; however, children riding in backpacks are permissible.

Dependents who are 14 years of age or older may be sponsored by their cardholding parent but have to pay guest fees, remembering that all guests must remain in the company of their sponsoring host while using facilities. If dependents who are 14 to 23 years of age wish to use facilities without parental supervision, the cardholding parent must purchase memberships for these dependents. Dependent members may not bring in siblings under the age of 14.

Guest policy
A student or facility member must be "host" to the guest. All guests are required to sign in. Guests are required to remain in the company of their host while using facilities. Adult members are  allowed up to three guests per day. Dependents must show their facility key tag and are limited to one guest who must also be 14 years of age or older.

Guest passes
Guest passes can be purchased at the service area of the Recreation Complex for $5 per/person/day or at the pools during Recreational Services swim time for $3/person/day. Guest pass fees include sales tax.

Guest passes for non-dependent children
Guests under the age of five years will be allowed to enter free of charge. Guests aged five through 13 years will be charged a guest fee of $3 at the Rec Complex or $1.50 at the pools. Guests 14 years or older will be charged the regular guest fee of $5 at the Recreation Complex or $3 at the pools.

Guest passes for groups
To aid groups in recruitment of prospective students on campus, a group may apply for reduced guest passes at 50 percent off regular price. Apply on official letterhead listing persons, their classification, and reason at least two weeks in advance of date on campus. Guests must follow normal guest rules including being accompanied by host. A minimum of five guests in group is required to qualify.
